Type R anyone race It?
I have raced two Type R's. One was all motor and modded fairly well. He says he runs a 14.5. I usually beat him by about 2-3 lengths at 90. The other type R was stock (i assume). by 80 I had 5 lengths or so on him. (hard to tell in the rearview)

I have five friends with type r's.
Being front wheel drive they don't have a chance from a launch but they are decently quick from a roll.
The most modified one has cold air, exhaust and uni-chip. From a launch an s2000 will eat it up every time but from a roll it is much closer, about 1 car length from 50mph to 100mph. Versus a stock type r from a roll it is usually about 2 car lengths.
The power to weight ratios of the type-r are not that far off: 7.2kg/kw vs. 7.7kg/kw

Actually I'd like to dyno my car, I just gotta find someplace around here to do it. I'm not saying type R's are slow by any means. It is close enough to our cars that we can lose. you know... kinda like a mustang GT. (sorry steve c... couldn't resist) lol.
Seriously though, if you f*** up enough, you can lose. I have not raced one from a roll... but yeah, I know those type r's are hard to launch because they tend to "bounce" the front end on launch.

Good job anyway.
