OK. Driving home on the interstate my friend and I saw a primer-gray Ford pickup that appeared to be from the 40's or 50's, just cruising along. I say "dude that truck will be sweet when he throws some paint on there" and right then the car in front of him moves over and he hustles off with a hot rod rumble.

We caught up to find the driver is a gray old man, gave a thumbs up, and took off hoping he'd bite. Needless to say he did, but how he did it blew my mind. I redlined third and was on my way through fourth, and this guy pulled up RIGHT on my butt, and stayed there to about 110. Then I move over to give him the winner lane, and he's almost giddy with laughter. He let me get the jump again, this time from about 70, and by 90 with empty road ahead of him he jogged away from me. He was just GONE. I mean he might as well have been in a Z06. By 110 he probably had 4 car lengths. it was astonishing.

Slowed down, pulled alongside, and the old codger was still basically giggling. We exchanged "nice car" pleasantries and that was about it. I think we were both surprised at the performance of the other's car.

I never would have guessed a truck like that would have such a devastating top end. This happen to anybody else before? I wonder what he had under the hood...

Oh yeah my S2000 is stock. I'm proud of the feisty girl. Here's what the truck looked like:

When I was down in San Diego, I saw the same model truck with some big ass block in it which was killing everything.

My dumbass friend thought my other friend's b16 hatch would easily beat it. I told him it wasn't slow and he didn't believe me. Of course the truck won and he's still in denial when the truck ran like 12s or something like that.

My father has one of those but it's a 53 chevy. They sometimes put them on a camaro frame and dump a monster engine in it. My old man has a 396 with a Holley double pumper in it. It will haul ass.

Hm... the one that schooled me had exhaust tips that looked a lot like a Z28's, but i'll be damned if an LS1 can pull a three ton behemoth with that much authority.

Integrate, 12s sound about right. Maybe even faster? I could not believe that thing's acceleration at such high speeds. It looked like it had JATO.
