It’s been a while since I posted on here but u lot may be interested in this run I had on Friday.

Sitting talking to one of my mates at his front door (we were arranging going for a few beers) his cousin draws up in a ford focus zetec. He must av noticed my car but he never knew it was mine and said.

Him: who’s is the civic?
Friend and I just kinda look about lol( I knew he was gonna have a dig)
Him: I beet one of them the other day not bad little cars (lol it’s a 5 door)
Me : not to sure the guy would have been trying. What size of engine does your focus have?
Him:
up rated shocks.
Custom manifold
Straight through exhaust (big fart can on end)
Induction kit(filter in bay) Super chip. he then went to say it’s a 1.8 and thought it was pushing 185bhp(no I didn’t laugh)

Me: well am going out in 5 or 10 but if u wanna have a run am up for it.
Him: no problem(he did look a little taken back)

All I have is a CAI. no spare wheel or tool kit.


We head to our local spot big long straight 2 lanes going same way

I move to the right hand lane and he comes up long side me. We are both sitting at 40mph side by side (am sitting in 2nd gear) I look over and give him the nod and he floors it.

As he had the jump he kinda jumped a few feet forward b4 I got on it. As soon as I got on I started to pull easily past him just as I shifted to 3rd and took it to the end of 4th. He was a good bit back.

I pull over and he wants to go again from abit higher speeds(not sure if that would help him at all) so we went from 60mph me sitting 3rd this time and he got a little jump again as he was on it b4 I was. same out come past him b4 I went to 4th and just let of at the end of 4th gear.


The guy turned out to be a top bloke. spoke for a bit b4 I left to go out.

Not to sure what he was rally putting out hp wise?

Not really fat cars but a good encounter.

Not sure of his mods either could be real but I doudt it,
