What happened?
Once you go to the track you will realize that all these drives you took on back roads were maybe pushing your car to about 60% of its potential. I drove back roads everyday and thought i got really comfy with it and was doing 99% of the potential. I went to the track and was amazed at how much faster and harder i could take the turns. You will then also understand that you will never drive your car like that anywhere but the track. And after that if someone beats your or whatever, you can say "lets take it to the track".
It changes the whole way you think of the car. I wouldn't believe it until i did it, so do it and you'll believe it.

Don't encourage the community asshat...
As far as vids go- I've seen one of them... but it was because the guy (at an s2k event) downshifted without rev-matching going into a sweeping curve on the edge of a mountain (might have been the dragon)... the back tires essentially locked causing an uncontrolled drift... when he tried to counter... he shot himself over the edge.
Don't know about the other one...
but I saw a video of a GT, GTR and a 350z all wrecking while running timed 1/4's...
Funny Shit

i saw one video of an S losing it on a turn but it wasnt a good angle. rolling a convertible would be so scary!

All you guys who are saying 65 wasn't fast should come drive on roads around me here in eastern Ohio. I just went out and ran a couple roads today and never got out of 3rd gear speeds. Granted on certain straights I MIGHT have been able to break into tripple digits very shortly, but I don't have anything to prove.
If you get torqued driving where you're confident, chalk it up to whatever you feel like at the time and keep having fun like you were.

hopefully this post is a joke.. since while the S2K is a damn good handling car, it dosn't take much for a Mustang to beef up the suspension to easily out handle it.. then when you take the extra power that's available with a few well picked parts, you have an 11 sec 1/4 mile car that can easily out handle a M3 or S2K...
A mustang will not easily outhandle neither an S2000 or an M3.
I overtook a 360 Ferrarri but i'm not gonna say that i can easily do that.
The S2000 driver clearly was not pushing his car that hard and the guy in the Mustang might of been a crazy driver with nothing holding him back.
Well,
Very interesting thread. However something I didn't notice in my quick runthrough is that driving the S takes time and lots of skill.
For example:
Driving my S2000 to work a good twisty fun time coming off the island. If I drive the car where I allow the car to drop below 6k in any gear coming off the island it takes me about 4 minutes. When I push the car a little more and never drop the car below 6k-7k in any gear I come off the island in just over 3 minutes. This is doing the speed limit. If I push the car and (may I not say it too loud) speed I cut the time to just under 2 minutes. There is huge difference any cars performance in the way you drive. If the Mustang was coming out of the corner with the excelerator pressed and in the right gear it would make sense that he would just walk away and you would never see him again. I mean I beat a Prelude SH off this island in a 93 Civic hatch DX Auto with stock motor.
