I knew joining this forum would help me to understand the S2000 before I placed the order on a 2002. Now I see the error in my thinking. I'll just scrap the plan to buy a beautiful convertible and I'll keep my 10-year old CRX-Si. There will be no used car price because I already own it, I can add an over the top amount of $7,000 to the already $4,000 I have in it now and I will be able to eat S2000s for lunch. No!

The S2000 is not only a performance bargain, it is an ultra-dependable HONDA, and a show case for technology that other manufactures will still be trying to copy 10 years from now. Let's not forget the amazing rigid aluminum frame the highest horsepower per litre engine is bolted into, and did I mention it is a convertible?

Shizon'00,
If you don't agree with me, then you're wrong! Just kidding, I guess we agree to disagree.

Triple-H,
It's nice to see that someone knows what part of the infatuation with the S2000 is. I always find it kind of amusing that many people who claim not to like the S2000 are browsing our forum and wasting so much of the time talking about it. Odd... don't you think?

A lot of that was blamed on drivers though and it's only in hot lap tracking conditions, not street driving.

I can understand why folks who bought a "race" version Vette would be upset when the tranny gets really hot after 15 minutes on the track. Even when the air temps are as low as 68 degrees.

Nevertheless, it sounds like a minor glitch on a great car.
i was talking about problems most people have with it....most people don't track their car.

Yes, I've spent some time on the track with some overheating Z06s.
are you just an ass cuz you are bored or are you always that way??

driving a 996TT does not mean you own one. I asked if you owned one, but thanks for the sarcastic response.

Why are you on the S2k board anyway..mr. 996 turbo...just to be an ass?? if so please leave...we already have our share of trolls.

Hmmm...I wasn't responding to a post that you made but rather one made by "shizon." (check the quoting)

I hope this clears things up for you.

LOL. I browse the board because my Father owns an S2000 and because I ran with some S2000s this past weekend and, in addition, I wanted to see what the owners thought about the squirlliness of the cars during track use.

As a side benefit, I got to read a few of your posts wherein you made some outrageous claims about the Z06 in relation to the 996TT. It sure seems like a classic case of too much magazine reading.
a classic case of relaying info from people who have owned both..that's all. I have not had the fortune to run either, but would like too. Just because you have..doesn't mean you need to be an ass. I am glad you own a 996TT, that's great. They are great cars. My point...the Z06 is also a great car..especially for the money. The fact it is mentioned in the same breath as a 996 TT says a lot about where the corvette has come in the past few years.

Outrageous claims?? like what..that the Z06 can and does beat the 996 TT on road courses..which it does..maybe not all, but some. It is also a great auto-x car...which i have witnessed first hand. Not everyone has $120k+ to buy a 996 turbo and race it...so they can't speak from first hand. You seem like a really great guy...who thinks very highly of himself...good for you.

I'm done with this thread...another to add to my block list i guess...him and steve c should hang out..and talk about how everything from BMW and Porsche rulez all !! Porsche's are my favorite cars actually, but the owners have been less then wonderful....at least the ones I have run into...
