Im stock form to a degree, but if youre only pulling the downs syndrome of racing (1/4 mile) then yes we are definitely slow by american muscle standards. Take afew torque and oversized engines to a track and see where they end up. If were only running a straight line race then hell ya id want a 2jz Supra or a Lingerfelter zo6.

I thought the same thing, but if you read on, it turns out this was posted on another section and then moved here lol.

And I agree with what you said, It's not a drag car, it's a track car. It's one of the few raw cars that do so well around a track in stock form.

It is a ten year old car. If it wasn't slower than some cars on the road now life as a car enthusiast would be dreadful.
Ten years ago it was fast for its segment. Let's keep some perspective here.

what about stock s2ks with turbos on there pushing over 450hp? Stock engine, just slapped on a turbo right? whats slow about that? thats the way i look at it when talking to these NEWLY STI, Evos, R32, S60 R , and so forth...if honda had put on a turbocharger on the S2000 we would be right next to Z06s, M5s, M6s...not STIs, and Evos...

i really hate when people try to bring arguments like this up.

Good kill either way

It is torque less, I won't call it slow, but it's not fast by any means. Short stroke, plus short intake runners= no torque off the line. But off the line torque is overrated to me since most of my hard driving is above 5 k rpm. Most people like myself buy the car because it is fun to drive and it's raw.

Completely agree!

Very nice driving/shifts OP, that red cobra was bad. Obviously the s2000 doesn't have much torque but it wasn't really made for drag racing either so beating that 5.0 in what it does best makes it that much better for you it would have been worst for him if you didn't have a passenger

I don't think the S2K is slow. Recent Autocross

The only two ahead are WAAAAY out of most cars league AND on super soft racing slicks. Many cars behind are considered "faster" and some also on slicks.

This is an under prepped STR car on RS-3's. If I thought the S2000 was slow I would have never got one in the first place
