Raced a Blue WRX with factory add-on, racing hart cpo-35, and an exhaust on my way home today. He was revving at me when we were stuck at a light so I knew he wanted to race. When the light turn green we made our way through traffic in to the open lanes w/ the WRX in front. Now everytime I get near the WRX he would take off as soon as I'm about a car length behind and I would just down shift and pass him over and over again with ease. Finally we were able to line up at a red light, he rolled down his window and said, "you're lucky we were racing from a roll!" I just smiled at him and concentrate on the light, because I knew even a stock WRX would be extremely hard to beat off of the line. Lights turn green we took off at the same time he had me by about a car length for a sec, and then BOOOOOOOOOOM I'm gone! At 80 or 90 I had so many car lengths on him I just shut it down. Next light he had his windows up looking straight at the light holding his RPM. At first I didnt want to waste my gas anymore, but I thought what the heck this is fun! Second run same results and the WRX driver burns the hell outta his clutch. I slowed down, wanted to tell him that I was turbocharged so he could recover from the shock, but he never pulled up Absolutely the best feeling I've had surprising the hell outta somebody who didnt know better. Just wanted to share this story w/my fellow S2000 owners. (By the way, not bashing the WRX in anyway they are AWESOME cars and plan on getting one to be my daily driver soon)

Yeah speed-craft... I'm having issues with my boost controller not being very consistant, so I believe my boost peaked around 5.1-5.6 psi on these runs. I dynoed at 273 to the rear wheels at 5.4 psi. I'm running a custom 3" straight pipe w/the HKS titanium racing muffle.

Oh yea, that's right. I completely forgot about those issues. How's that situation going btw?

I got beat by a WRX at the track one time. It belonged to a owner of a Subaru performance tuning shop. The car had full turbo upgrade and just about everything else; he claimed 350 hp. At the light he cut an awesome 60' time (1.8), as for me... well, 2.4

Towards the end I was catching up, I ran a 14.0 @ 102 mph and he did a 13.5 @ 96 mph This was at LACR which was over 3,000ft above sea level. Elevation for both of us majorly effects our mph, either that or the digital meter they used was off.

Anyways, a few of my friends have Subaru's. The WRX are good off-the-line performers, but at highway speeds over 100mph they will fall behind, QUICK! Some cars are not made to go fast over 100mph, and the WRX is one of them.

Would've paid to see that guy go "doh" when you smoked him. I think some of the more zealous WRX enthusiasts sometimes forget that other cars can have boost too :-)
