I believe it, and you guys should too.

Stock for stock of course, not a chance for the XRS. But believe me or not, they take to minor bolt-ons pretty well, and the fact that they weigh nothing, really helps them.

A buddy of mine has one with Hydra EMS, intake, exhaust, and headers, a bored throttle body, Hondata IMG and a Standalone ECU, plus some weight reduction.

For the longest I heard "it runs hard, it runs hard". But never new how hard until I ran him in my G35 coupe! It was damn close with me only gaining inches in 5th gear!

wow..... really?

still, a stock s2000 will walk a g35 hard from a roll, so that XRS in the first vid still must be boosted.

but damn, ..... that's pretty quick for a corolla.

No, 180. And their VVT-i or VTEC, whatever theirs is called bangs in hard with like close to a 40whp jump!

Same motor as the Lotus Elise.

It's 170 actually. It's a detuned version of the Celica GT-S motor...

Before I bought my S2k I had a Celica GT-S. It was a great car and the VVTL-i works exactly like VTEC. They can make power, but are often overlooked due to the weak aftermarket. 200whp n/a is not impossible, and the Celica starts at 2500lbs.

I never cared for the ugly step brother named XRS, but I'm sure it's a similar story.

yeah, the celica gt-s it what got me into cars. i first loved trucks, especially the s10. but once i got into the gt-s, oh damn. i love imports!!!! and yeah that celica was B.A. and i think in the last year of porduction, it was also detuned, and the redline was put on 7800 and not the 8300. b/c many ppl kept blow that s**t up.

Quote from the corolla owner:

"This XRS runs Low 14's ~100 mph. Never heard of an S2000 AP1 do that."
