Default Z28 vs. da S

I just met up my friend at the gas station (he owns a yellow S) so that we can caravan down to a club in Mountain View. Pulling out of the gas station and on the a side road, I see a dark green Z28 driving aggressively (it was unmistakebly a V8; I had no idea whether it was a LT1 or LS1). Since he was going my way, I decided to follow him. Unfortunately, he continued on the road while I pulled off into the main street (19th Ave).

So we were on our merry way to the club until, lo and behold, the Camaro is right up ahead. I could see that he had a Flowmaster sticker on his rear end . After a few blocks of threading around traffic, we finally line up on a perfect quarter mile strip (Winton and 19th Ave, southbound). There was a accord in the middle lane and the Camaro and myself were in the outer lanes. My boy with the yellow S was stuck behind the accord so he couldn't participate in our little run .

The Camaro starts reving like crazy and I'm thinking to myself whether or not I am going to launch. Light turns green and I slip the clutch at 3K. Camaro dude f*cks up his launch and we were side by side at the hole shot. His car doesn't fly past me as I would expect, so his car-lenght lead after the hole shot was eaten up by my first gear. I run it through 2nd and I pulled a full car from him. Redlining 3rd gear, 92mph, w/ my girlfriend screaming in my ear, I throw on the hazards. With 2 some odd car lenghts, I smoked my first Camaro. He then goes on to rev his engine like crazy and I decide not to play anymore. It was a good night .

Thanks tassin06, the car went better than we anticipated it to, we were shooting for high 9's and ended up ripping off a 9.65 followed by a few 9.7's and 9.8's
