I watched mine come off the truck and it had 7 miles on it. One thing to consider also, These cars come from Japan, so there is alot more loading/unloading going on than a car from Ohio or elswhere in North America. Now I know that might not add up to 7 miles, but I'd be surprised to see and S with as few miles as an Accord or Civic.

I believe it is the responsibility of the dealership to allow niche cars like the S2000 to be driven as intended but with that in mind, one car should be the designated automobile and if someone wants to buy it, a generous discount should be applied to move it off the lot. When that car is sold, another S2000 should be selected and once again, set aside for test drives. That is how the dealership worked it where I bought my S2000. It's not like at this stage, there are 30 people on a Saturday waiting to buy an S2000.
The thought of seven or eight S2000's sitting on a lot, all ragged out by curious prospective buyers is not one I relish. However, all the more power to any dealership who encourages such test drives by branding one car as the "mule."

but it DOES feel better, dammit!!
but seriously, i think what he meant was that the quality of material and attention to design detail is at a higher standard, similar to that of acuras. i'm sure the build quality is the same, but its the texture, and accents that make a car "appear" better quality. i haven't seen a 04 first hand, but from the pics i've seen of the interior, particularly the new center console, stereo door, and 2 -tone seats, it makes my 02 seem bland and dated in comparison...just like the silver accents on the door panel, the leather covered center console, and rear glass make the 02 appear nicer and "better" quality in comparison to the 00.
