*Damn deer!
By the way, is the part name of the plastic guard thing under the fender. It's black, soft plastic that goes under the fender, but on top of the wheels. I'm trying to look up how much it costs to get everything replaced.
State Farm didn't change my rates when I claimed a deer hit that did $2500 to my prelude. It helps if there is evidence that a deer was involved since the adjuster will be looking to confirm the story. I had deer hair still in my headlight bucket and a nice pattern of something furry sliding across my hood. I live far enough out in the country and am friends of the local police so my S2K's speed is only limited by how hard I want to hit a deer. HID headlights suck for spotting deer.
Sorry to hear about your mishap on such a new car
As others have stated, animal accidents will not raise your rates 99% of the time. I know mine do not and have not yet heard of one that did. Just pay your deductible and have your car fixed up properly.
Good luck

Claim it. Many times your rates won't even be affected by an animal strike, though check your policy and ask your agent for details. 99% of the time, even if you do experience a rate increase (again, unlikely) it will cost you less overall than paying for the damage yourself.
Call them ASAP!

Oh deer, what a mess, wrecking a new S like that would break my hart. I wouldn't pay a buck beyond the deductible though - let the insurance company spend its doe - the damage total can be stag-gering.
