Then don't sell it .. Have them come to you if they want it that bad..
I know, but it's just the principle. I mean, they are all e-posers. Why do they even bother? I mean... I've actually dealt with a few of these already... within a month.

Dude, you will be happier once you learn a few things:

1) What you paid for it is irrelevent.

2) What it is worth is what somebody is willing to pay for it. If you don't like the price, you don't have to sell.

3) WTF are you doing wasting your time driving around like some sort of moving swap meet? Do the haggling in advance and establish a price. If they try to lowball you afterwards, then you have a right to be pissed off.
Absolutely. Them's is the rules.

1) I know now

2) But the thing is that there are a lot of people willing to pay more, but then it's just my problem of laziness to ship. But I am going to ship now due to the bastard lowballers.

3) I was being nice to him since he sounded sincere and wanted the wheels and was all like, "Yeah, I'll take them for $xxxx". Then he tried to haggle after after set the deal.
Sorry it's such a hassle. Good luck.

Isn't this post a very well disguised ad?

Even if it is... good luck selling your parts (consider this a "bump" )
Also, if you both agree on a price, only until money changes hands it becomes final.
Ask for a refundable Paypay for fuel before driving out anywhere.

I don't get what the problem with "bastard lowballers" is. It's his fault for driving around and apparently not having a concrete price. Don't like what they offer? Don't sell!! But don't get mad because someone is testing the waters so that they may possibly not have to spend more of their hard earned money.

There have been quite a few occasions in life that I have bought something from a private seller for less than I was expecting just because I gave it a shot and tried a low price. Am I ridiculous for thinking that it's a silly thing to get offended over?

No, that's not ridiculous but that's not what he's saying.

It's one thing to try to get a lower price when you meet in person, but if the seller is unwilling to go that low, it's your responsibility to pay the price that was previously agreed to. The seller was being curteous by agreeing to meet somewhere- the least you could do is buy it for the price you agreed to buy it for. I'd be pissed too...

I never understood why people got all pissed about lowball offers. An item is only worth what someone will pay for it and no one wants to pay more than they have to. If you dont like the price then tell them to pound sand.

Now, if you had agreed on a price and all that and they backed out that sucks. But this is just the nature of selling things.

I think low balling is okay over the net/phone, but the price should be set and honored when you drive out to meet the person.
