Default !&@# you've done ...

What are some of the crazy things you've done while your car was new (to you)? I'll start, so far:
- Didn't know I had to push down to get to reverse. I was constantly stalling trying to go to reverse while the car was in sixth.
- One time, I drove off with the parking break on and stalled.

Still 350 miles on the ODO ... more to come

I have not had any of those experiences with the S.

I did have to tell a friend how to open the gas door after he got his he called me from the gas station and said "dude!, how the hell do I put gas in this thing!?" I laghed my @$$ off and then explained how to open the fuel door

Same thing happened to me the first time I tried to put gas in my car. It would have been helpful if the Salesman would have showed me the "secret" button! I was at the gas station looking like a straight NOOB.

Oh yeah, the sun glass compartment under the wind deflector was a fun find (2 months later)

About the reverse story. The Sales dude could not even figure out to put the car in reverse when I was going to go on a test drive. HA HA HA. All his other buddies laughed at him.

I had the same problem with reverse. I shoulda figured it out, because the year before, I test drove a 6 speed VW and it was similiar way to get into reverse.

I didnt find out until about 3 months after I got mine, the secret compartment. Found out on this site.

I drove through cow-stench infested lands with the top down at 55 degrees at night. Did this for about an hour. Was a lot of fun despite the chilly temperature and the bad smell

I had two problems. First, I couldn't figure out where the gas door release was, and then when I wanted to look it up in the owners manual, I couldn't find the manual. LOL, even after we found the picture in the owners manual I still had a little trouble finding the release pull.

It was embarassing too, because the car had gathered a crowd of onlookers.
