Default [update]Vandalism brings change.

So today, while I was getting ready to clean/wax my car, I discover that someone tried stealing my front Honda badge. The were half successful, but left half of it there. I was livid.

Luckily, I had been thinking about debadging for a while, because I was unfortunate enough to buy an S2000 badged on one side as a 2000S.

So, I spent the afternoon/evening tearing all four badges off. I like the way it looks without the badges on the side, but I already want to get some red badges for the front and back. What do you guys think?

P.S. I had almost forgotten how good a fresh waxed berlina looks.

[update] and they stole my antenna in the past couple days. Grr. I think I'll worry about getting those red badges and a new antenna after I ETS out of the Army.

I debadged the front and rear and left the side emblems. I love the clean look.

I saw in one of the newer car mags that a Porsche has a sticker of the emblem on the hood to save weight. I like that idea a lot. Does anyone sell nice stickers to replace the emblems?

I saw a thread yesterday where a guy had custom made reflective Honda emblems front and rear. They looked great, but I'm not sure how he made them.

I can't believe people buy into Porsche's marketing gimmick....how is replacing things like door latches with straps and using stickers for emblems a "weight saving" thing? I challenge people to remove all their door latches AND emblems and put it on a postal scale...that amount of weight is negligible even for a go-kart.

If Kia all of a sudden started using straps and stickers then people would bash how "cheap" they've become...

Did you say you would like to get a sticker to replace the emblem because it SAVES WEIGHT?

Stop it. Just...stop. You made me spit coffee all over my computer at work.

You would save even more weight by taking a piss every time before you drive.

Private owners have been doing that for a long time. I dont know that Porsche offers it but, it wouldnt hurt. These were originally applied by the extreme weight loss cars that were getting under 2000 pounds. There were swapping bumpers hoods, fenders doors deleting sunroofs, lighter glass or plexi. Everything. Have you every held a Porsche badge. Solid chunk of metal and maybe weighs an ounce. Not heavy but, weighs much more than an "H" in plastic.

Pounds are made of ounces

No need on the s2k emblem.
