Default ^#$E%#$Q thieves

So I found a sweet deal for my brother who was interested in a S2k. It was a 2003, only 3,000 miles on the car, we got it for 26k.

Anyway, we just registered the car over the weekend. Just yesterday, some !$%# a-holes stole it.

Just a few hours later it was recovered, missing steering wheel, shift knob, seats. Slight body damage where they jacked up the car.

I thought there was a chip in the key for these cars? I know that it isn't much security.

He was going to get an aftermarket alarm, but just didn't get a chance to do it.

I was shocked to hear when he found out that to replace the seats to buy them from honda it's $8k cost to the insurance company?

Anyway, I tried to console him and told him that they probably didn't damage the motor because the engine was made to be abused, and also the time of day they stole it, they probably didn't want to bring attention to themselves.

It really puts a hurt on you when something like that happens so fast after buying it. I am sorry about this.

Withing 2 days of getting my S2K, a SUV sideswiped it and ran away. I couldn't call the police because I didn't have insurance on it at the time (was out getting it smogged) and I never got his plates. that adds an extra 1500 to the car.
