US News & World Report June 11, 2001 has a really cool S2K add on the inside of the front cover. Nice Silver Red.

5.8 sec to 60 is a really slow. Don't you think? It should be in the low 5s. BTW, Auto Week also had the Honda S2K Silver ad for a few weeks in May.

At the bottom of that ad, it says that Motor Trend got that #.??

Motor Trend reports 5.3 in their magazine though.?

Car & Driver got 5.8 and

Road & Track got 5.5

Seems like Honda has some #'s screwy.? o well... fast enough either way... as long as no WRX's kick our asses!

I've seen numbers as good as 5.4 from the new WRX. Grass Roots Motorsports got this number. The only negative thing about getting times like that out of a WRX is that the clutch needs to be dropped at pretty high rpm and with AWD all the wheels hook up so the clutch takes quite a beating.

Motor Trend got their Stook 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with a 13.8 second 1/4 mile time @100.5 mph in February of '00. As far as I know, those are the best published #'s for the car. I posted a thread once (since I revamped the FAQ) for peeps in other countries to post their magazine times, but no one posted any, so I suppose these are, in fact, the best times by a reputable source. What's really going to cook your noodle is the fact that I saw a video back when I was working for Honda that stated that the car originally had a 8,700 rpm redline and made 265hp with Honda getting multiple sub 5 second 0-60's. What I wouldn't do for that video...

I think i tried my best and so did the tranny when i did a 7 rpm launch with the Gtechpro and got 5.8. OK i dont believe in that (gtechpro) completely but i sure paid alot for the car....i dont care if some supped up hatch back civic or a beater car can out run me....i still love the looks of the s2000....tee hehe...(no offence to those who drive these civics or whatever that can go oh so fast..i admire you but anyhow, im bias
