Exclamation 00-01 top conversion to 02+

I'm going to replace my top toward the end of summer or fall to a glass. If I buy the glass one will a honda dealership be able to do the install? Or will they give me the line that it wont fit. Anyone have their dealer do this?

Skip the Honda dealership. I think most dealerships send their work to an upholstery shop instead of doing an occasional softtop replacement. Just find out where your local dealership sends their work and talk directly with the shop. You might need to search this site for the how-to information if they aren't familiar with the necessary alterations (the straps).

i had my top slashed a few months ago, and while going through insurance to get it fixed, i requested a glass top conversion done. the body shop i went through called up the Honda dealership and the rep there said it couldn't be done.

I went to another body shop, one that i know and work with all the time, and he did it for me in 3 days.

From my experience, honda dealerships don't know wtf the are talkin about when it comes to these kinds of conversions.

Another option I haven't seen mentioned is possibly finding a wrecked 02 up and taking the ST and whole frame. It would make the swap much easier. That way you aren't trying to fit an 02 up top onto an 01 under frame. But then you are getting a used top.

Bah, screw the dealership. Go through your local body shop. They should have no issues with this.
