are there any difference in the ecu's?? i heard from some people where the 02-03 is better..can someone explain??? thanks/

Honda programmed in a more conservative fuel map (richer air/fuel mix) on the 00-01 ECU's in order to protect the engines. They dialed in the ECU a little more aggressively after the first two model years. I just installed an '03 ECU in my '01 and it definitely runs stronger.

so pretty much i should do the same.. but what if i put a 01 ecu in a 02??will it cause the 02 to run crappy??

 

no. just a little richer on the top end.

The consensus here is that it is worth about 5HP on the top end.

 

Sup Minh, did you get that ricks leather cover? You already have the VAFC, why would you want the 02 ecu???

 

just get rid of the ECU and get EMS....

 

What is the part # for a '03 ecu, and where to buy, and how much?
