Default Difference between 00-01/02-03 ecu?

Just wondering why the 02-03 ecu is said to be better.

You need the new ecu's vin and your vin. Go to the dealer, plug in the new ecu and then ask them to reprogram the new ecu to your keys. Done.

Would you switch over if you were going FI? Or would the extra fuel help keep knock in check, and or possibly better to fine tune.

The difference is so small I wouldn't bother swapping a functional PCM for another.

So there's no "matching" required? I ask because my last car was a saab 9-5 which had different models with different options so you had to find an ECU with the same transmission, etc as you had. I assume since the s2k has no real options like that, any ECU will work? Also, is there any reason one wouldn't want to do this to their 00-01?
