New member been looking for a S2000 for a 3 months now(very picky) i have 2 in my plate right now a 01 with 62000 plus miles bone stock, clear title but needs minor body work with dirty engine bay 9000 dollars asking price, next is an 03 with 72000 plus miles minor modded with K&N Typhoon TRUE cold air intake, Buddy Club Pro Spec cat-back exhaust, Megan Racing stainless header, and Tein S.Tech springs, very clean, price 9500

what would you guys do no mods low miles, minor mods with 10000 more miles but a newer year model.

never owned a S2000 but have driven one and have always wanted one, now have the funds and want to get one. Thanks for the replys.

 

I would take the 03. No body work needed, and a lot of minor changes by Honda that make a big difference over the 01. One example would be the glass rear window on a 03 versus the plastic one on a 01, and I am speaking from personal experience on that. Sure, the 03 has higher miles, but as I said, a few more miles is worth the design changes Honda made from the first two years of making the car to the 02-03s.

That's my two cents, coming from an owner of a 01 for six years now.

 

It depends on how "minor" the bodywork is on the '01.
I'll take stock and low miles every time.

03 hands down. You can reverse the mods if you want and there are very easy reeplace with stock ones And you can get some money of it

 

Get the 03...the plastic window sucks..take that advice from someone who has a broken window. Glass is much better. You also get the tweeters and leather console vs carpet.
