Default 03 vs 04....any difference in moding?

I am in the market for an S2000 and was wondering if there is any difference in the 2 models...03 vs 04 in terms of future moding ie supercharging. Is one model better suited to modifying than the other or are they basically the same?
I have located both an 03 and an 04 in the color I want, both with around 7000 miles on them.
cheers

You should try searching for more detailed information.

But the most major change is the motor increasing in size from 2.0 to 2.2. And a few cosmetic changes mainly to the bumpers and tail/headlights. Suspension is a bit more "forgiving" from what I've read about the 2004's. Meaning a bit softer I suppose and a few more things. Sorry I don't know the exact specifics with the suspension

With the new motor having a larger displacement, I would imagine it being more mod-friendly. Slightly though... don't expect HUGE differences in them. They are still the same car.. AWESOME at that

For most basic bolt-ons like headers/intake, they will fit both the 00-03 2.0L F20C engine and the 04-05 2.2L F22C engine. Exhaust will fit for the most part but you may need to buy or modify the rubber hangers to get a made for 00-03 exhaust to fit the new rear bumper of the 04-05. All of the suspension mods from the 00-03s will fit on the 04-05s as far as I know.

For supercharging, the superchargers are a little bit different. I believe the 04-05s have a smaller pulley (read: higher boost at lower rpms) due to the lower redline in the 2.2Ls. Max boost ends up being the same, the 04-05s just spool the blower up faster. I don't know for sure but I don't think you can put a supercharger that was on a 00-03 onto a 04-05, but it may just be an issue of replacing the pulley with the correct one. If you're planning on buying new both Comptech and Vortech make superchargers for the F20C and F22C.

Hope this helps!

A bit of a newbie here from across the pond, cant belive that your 04's are 2.2 and ours are only 2.0, thats not fair

The pre 04 s2k are a lot less forgiven than the new 04 models, with there new set up.

I don't think anyone overseas was really disappointed with the power of the 2.0 motor.
