04-05 headlight conversion
I am looking to change out my headlights from 00-03 to the 04-05, but have read in several threads that some sort of bracket (aluminum is most popular) has to be fabricated to mount the ballasts to the headlight. Has anyone ordered from hardtopguy that can let me know if his product comes with a bracket? If it did come with a bracket, how did it turn out?
If not, how did you fabricate it and where did you get that piece of metal? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nope, the bracket does not come from hardtopguy, that's why you need to fabricate. But the best way to do it is to buy the 04/05 headlight ballast when you buy the new headlights. This will save you from having to fabricate a bracket to hold the old ballast to the new headlight and also save you from having to shave down the bottom of the headlight housing to get the wiring to fit through. The 04/05 ballasts run about $500 I think from hardtopguy.
Check the link in my sig for a DIY on the conversion. There are some pics of how I made the brackets.

I don't have the extra money to put into the ballasts and if the old ballasts work with no problems I would rather recycle them. But I just don't want to ghetto rig it. With your set up have you noticed any problems, anything coming loose, or moisture in the headlight? Anything like that?
BTW, that was the thread I was looking for, I saw it a while back, but forgot you had the headlight conversion in it as well. Thanks.
