I love my S (02 with 35k miles) I have after market rims, tires, exhaust, rotors, grill insert, aem cai etc and the car is in great working condition. But I can not help to think about trading it on for an 04 or 05. First off is there any huge difference between the 04 and 05. Next question, anyone here upgrade from an 01,02,03 to an 04 and or 05 and if so what was the big draw to do so, was it worth it, would you do it again, what did you get on your S trade assuming you traded it in. If I could get 22K for my trade and get into a semi used 04 with a few miles on it for 27-28 or so and basically come up with 5-6k out of pocket I think I would.... thoughts?

anyone upgrade and find out it was not worth it, miss the 9K redline, etc etc... please any and all advice welcome.

Also I like silver best, is there style the sebring and the darker silver available?

I know Kryas (Patty) has both an AP1 and AP2, so you should PM her for her opinion.

The "darker" (and nicer - hehehe) silver is called Silverstone.

....and personally I would stick with what you have, since you asked. The torque gains are there on the '04, but is it worth the sacrifice of the 9k redline? Unless you are in love with the new bumpers, the car is too close to make a move like that. IMHO.

You'll get differing opinions on this. It'll be up to you to sift thru the rhetoric.

NO difference from MY04-05.

If I was in your shoes.....I'd do it!! Think of it as an opportunity to have driven both cars. You'll sacrifice somethings but gain others. Either way you come out a winner.

And YES.....the darker silver is "silverstone".......and it's the undisputed best looking color the S has ever made or will ever make!!!!

I wouldn't do it. If you like the 04 bumper then do a conversion, it's not too hard.

And go with GPW, it's the fastest.

 

I bought mine as a weekend toy,looking for best performance only. I did research on my00-my04(purchased in late '03,my05 not yet out) and with the upgraded tranny,stiffer rear suspension,4-hole banjo bolts, etc..my02-03 was the only choice for me. when the 05' came out i thought about moving up,untill i found out it was the same as 04'(softer suspension,8k redline,clutch delay,etc....)somewhat "dumbed-down" IMO for every day driving. so i would not buy 04 or 05,just put my money in to my existing baby. For someone looking for a daily driver,an 04'/05 might be a good choice. p.s berlina is the fastest & sexiest color IMHO
