Still searching, now for a friend who's looking at an '04... at a local Honda dealership, 3k miles, with rear spoiler, certified warranty *adds 1 year to bumper to bumper and 100k powertrain, upgraded speakers, eq, headrest speakers. For 31 grand. About the price you can buy new for, but are the warranty and upgrades better for 31 grand, than buying new?

But what's the better deal, regarding '04's the certified with extra warranty or the new with basic warranty?

 

I've been looking at the '04 too. I walked into my local dealer, and they gave me an offer of $30,300 (+ taxes) without too much trouble. I think you can get it for $30,000.

I also found a beautiful silver '02, 9000 miles (lady driven and probably never redlined) w/ hard top. Like new and otherwise stock. I can probably pick it up for $25,000. Which way should I go - new or used? And does anyone use the HT?

The whole car market (new and used) looks pretty soft - seems to be lots of cars around and not that many buyers. Anyone agree?

 

don't forget the 04 will be worth 6K+ less next year.

buy used. the depreciation will be MUCH lower. probably half on a % basis. figure they lose almost 40% in 3 years. buy a 3 year old one, and it'll lose probably 20-30% (on a MSRP basis) in 3 years. no brainer.

 

Hey Steven975, thanks for your input. Would I be better off buying an '03 than the '02? They are basically the same so I'm indifferent between the 2. The used '03 seem to be about $2,000 more than the '02.

 

IF you plan on selling within a year or so the '03 will obviously give you a little more value, but if you're gonna keep the car forever, why not just safe the money and go with the '02.

 

Anyone else finding any great '04 deals?
