I agree with Chadwick, kind of depressing to fill up on gas, and then before you are home it looks like you have gone though almost 1/4 tank. But then you get to about half full, and it stays around there for a long time. In the end, I am averaging about 21 mpg myself.

Ok call me a wuss ....already....I have been getting 21 mpg with no VTEC'n. Gotta wait for dry pavement and at least until I have driven the car more than 1000 miles before I

Actually, break in is 600 miles. feel free to VTEC, it's actually better to help seat the rings, just don't forget to use engine braking and short stints in vtec. (ie no top speed runs)

btw, I got 26 mpg during break in. heh.

And when the idiot light comes on, there's usually a gallon and a half left in the tank.

I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, just more controlled than I've seen.

*nods*

i do find it interesting that a semi-accurate fuel gage would show up on a Cavalier though...

i go 10-11 gallon then the light goes on...on average i am getting 22.5 to 23.5, my worst is 21.5 my best is 25.5, no oil use at 1600 miles. i wish for another 3 gallons in the tank so i can go more than 250 miles before the idiot light comes on...first time that happend i thought i would run outta gas...most cars give you 1-2 gallons at light time, this car does 3 gallons and you are empty. hard to judge. but in the end the car is excellence on wheels. ok the stereo needs another set of speakers.
