Default '04 HID's vs. '00-'03 HID's

I was wondering if the '04's hid's look different than the'00-'03's hid's. I came across a thread of HardTopGUy's '04 headlights for sale, and people were asking if the hid's would be transferable. Some had trouble, but or less figured it out. I've seen plenty of '00-'03 HID's at night, and they definitely have their own unique look to them compared to the Audi's and BMW's. I was just curious if the '04's are different. THe s2k's along with the Audi's have multiple colors of blue, purple, and like slight green when you see them coming down the road and bouncing. The BMW and Mercedes tend to just be that Blue/white shade. Just some differences I've noticed at night. I remember when HID's first came out like 6-7 years ago on the Euro's and how when at night you saw HID's you knew it was a Mercedes or BMW. Now they're on GMC Envoy's to Ford Focus SVT's to a Honda!

i remember reading somewhere that the cutoff is not as "aggressive" as the 00-03 headlights.

high beam seems about the same, low beam seems shorter, and the left seems more diffused with a lot more area lit to the left side without the clear delineation i remember on my '00. the left normal is also aimed much lower than the right, maybe in an attempt to keep it out of oncoming eyes a little more. of course, this is just on my car and could be an adjustment issue.

They should be the same. I don't think anything changed.

Have any MY04 owners tried to aim it upwards a bit more?

Coincidentally, I was working on a project for a design course last semester that addresses this issue. I never got around to re-encapsulating the final project back into the S2000 headlight housing, but it's something that could probably be done.

Wow, so this a difference between the two. It seems the '04 is little more opposing driver friendly....haha blind them all

i think for that reason alone we need to adjust upwards, i hate driving along at night without knowing what is in front. the cutoff is still sharp, so there is a very finite portion of the road ahead that is lit.
