Secret,

Aren't there production cars already on the road that have "self leveling" HIDs? And headlight systems that shift horizontally with steering inputs as well I believe.

i say i want to go up to the same point that the pre-04 have, and you say that is not the responsible thing to do, just use my brights, yet you have a pre-04 and are not concerned that they are shining in peoples eyes to the same extent. or did i miss something?

besides, i cannot drive with my brights on with oncoming traffic, normal lights adjusted up a little from where they are help me, and will not hurt them.

The BMW 3series has so-called Active Beams that take the vehicle speed into account and adjusts the beam itself depending on the situation.

So blasting down the Autobahn would result in the beams making themselves aim further but not as wide, with the opposite effect when driving around town to give the driver more side vision.

I wonder if the navigation system is linked up, so if someone is driving at Autobahn speeds in town, the beams stay in the "city mode!"

The Porsche Cayenne takes inputs from the steering to turn the beams into corners, pretty neat system.

Yes you did. I have an 04 as well.

True and Secret,

I was thinking it was one of the high end Mercedes but maybe it was the Cayenne I read about then.

I think the '04 HID are aimed a bit low but I'm constantly getting brighted by oncoming drivers that think I have the brights on.
