'04 and i-VTEC
people already complained about the increase in hp and torque, because they lost the 9k. there'd probably just be an uproar if they lost "vtec surge" too. lol.
really though, i have no clue.

Yes, I recall my days on Prelude boards where we ranted and raved against the RSX-S and its inferior engine. (The ranting was endless and everyone conveniently ignored the fact that the RSX-S was faster than the Prelude.)
Still, I can't imagine anyone would complain too much about plumping out the midrange torque curve without adding much to weight or seriously impacting fuel economy or emissions... hmm.

The S is a puriest car and the closest you will get to racing from any Honda car and iVTEC would smooth out some of the pure racing feel of the car.
BTW, the K engines used in racing have VTC (the i in iVTEC) disabled as you can not run wild cams and the VTC decreases engine responce....
Just my .02
