'04 S2000 Accessory Information, from AHM District Manager
There's a large group of S2000 owners anxious to learn more (and see more) in regards to the new 2004 S2000, present company included. With this, I wanted to share some information.
I met with the District Service and Parts Manager for American Honda today. It was actually for my wife's Accord sedan that we had the appointment, but I've met this DM before and he knows what a maniac I am for Honda and especially, the S2000.
He opened an Excel spreadsheet on his laptop that was titled 2004 Honda Accessories. He scrolled down to the section titled S2000. And yes, it was *still* titled S2000. So, I think a name change is not coming, thankfully, that silly S2200 crap can go and die somewhere.
At any rate, the most interesting information listed was in RED. It was listed as being a NEW ITEM along with a description and part numbers. All new part numbers for front chin spoilers confirms that we will see a diffrent front fascia. Headrest speakers were also listed. What was also interesting was where a side strake and rear spoiler continued to use old part numbers, but had one new part number, the addition of Rio Yellow. So, this at least confirms that the rear spoiler (currently available) will continue to be available and the side strakes will also continue to be available for 2004.
Another complete addition with all paint codes was a new rear spoiler. Again, this confirms the information that we have read. So, folsk will now have a choice between two rear spoilers. A rear "decklid style" and a true "wing" style.
One of the most interesting accessories was the addition of a CD changer mounting accessory. If this is what I think is going on, we coudl very well see the addition of a DVD based Navigation system available. Of course, I am truly speculating here, but it seems logical that the introduction of a new mounting area for the changer could be a result of added hardware.
Of course, this Excel spreadsheet only had actual dealer installed accessories. No factory installed options were listed. He shared with me that Honda will have their Dealer-only show on September 18th and 19th. At that time, the '04 Honda line-up will be unveiled. Including the Pilot-based truck that is to be released in Spring of 2004 as an '05 model.

Uuuummmm, guys, that was the point I was trying to make. It's obvious that '04 will bring about a new front fascia for the S2000. If not, the current front chin spoiler would have been listed with a new part number for Rio Yellow. But it was not. In fact, an entirely new part number lineup with colors was listed for '04 front chin spoilers.

Thanks for the info airgate
Damn as the days get closer I'm getting more excited. I was thinking of getting a MY03 but since I won't be ready for another car until next year I'm looking foward to how the '04 turns out.

Hey Hardtopguy,
Bought a console cover from you about 3 months ago. I never took the time to thank you. Great service, great price and good advice on installation. Thanks for being a ready resource. The rest of you folks should strongly consider htg when ordering OEM parts.
