There was a model year 1999 S2000 in other parts of the world, so it was not named after the year it came out.

I think its SAD that AHM is not following Honda's tradition with the past S500, S600 and S800 models. They should appropriately name the 04 the S2200. From the rumors, it will be called the S2200 in all other markets except here.
