Default '04 s2k release date?

I'm looking into buying a new 2k. I'm wondering if you guys have any idea of when it will be released. I searched honda's site and also your forum but couldn't find an eta. Any input would be much appreciated

Depends what you mean by "release". Cars are being produced as we speak, and as soon as mine gets to the dealer (October) he will "release" it to me when I write a big, fat check. The genie is out of the bottle, my man.

Ouch!

If you want the 9k redline you need to get an 03. I admit it is kind of a bummer to lose that, but if the car is as nimble I won't mind too much. I'm probably going to pick up an 04 myself when some of the guys on the board post their opinions/dynos and we know all is well with the 04s. I'm taking my S buying very conservatively at this point.

I am interested in the '04 too, but I am still debating whether or not I will be able to deal with having the limited practicality of a 2 seater as my daily driver. But the possibility of having kids soon is giving me second thoughts. But I still can't get the car out of my head! Whenever I see one drive by, I can totally see myself driving it. My backup plan is an RX8 since it seems to have many characteristics of the S2K, but with rear seats. And then possibly an STi, but the wife absolutely hates the look of it. She thinks the S2k looks absolutely sexy! But I guess we have to consider that future 3rd passenger's needs over our own.

I ordered one and it should be here around October 15th. Now is a good time to order one becuase you pick your color unless the dealer already has the allocation arranged. If you wait the dealers might mark them up (this happened in my area for the 1st year - anywhere from 4k-15k.ouch !!) and you might have trouble finding the color you like. I do not know what the selection is like in your area, but I live in the Baltimore, DC area and the dealers around here only have about S2K per month so the pickings are slim.
