I tried 2 times to peel off at 5K RPM and my tires would not smoke or make noise. I was like what the hell ! I used to do it all the times on my 93 RX7 with no problem.
Well the next day I realized I am such a dump ass. I forgot to turn off my VSA ! It my first S and I only own the car for 3 months. Completely forgot about the VSA.

its also very tiring, to hold the botton for 3 secs, to turn it off everytime you start the car . leaving it on is way easier

Your 06 has drive-by-wire throttle, so some lag can be expected.

Wow man, that was a heavy post for me... that's the first time I heard about lag on the 06's. ****.

edit- Care to offer more details about the throttle lag? Perhaps you could describe a couple different scenarios?

i leave it on and it works. it's interesting to see how far you can push the car before the computer tells you to stop. the software is pretty lenient but, it knows when you're in over head and it can save your ass. to Honda for adding this feature, it will save some cars and possibly some lives.

I've never found a lag with the throttle. Are you sure you're not confusing the lag with the clutch delay valve when you shift? Sometimes the clutch delay valve gives me a slight delay when I'm shifting and get off the clutch faster than usual.

Only the very small percentage of '06 owners have it on. All of us 05- guys are way too macho for it
Yeah, but your user info says you're driving an '03 model?

On the topic at hand:

Propnuts and all, just keep in mind that while electronics like VSA and ABS are great "aids" to driving and maintaining control, especially during unexpected adverse conditions, they "can not" compensate for a stupid driver. I'm not calling anyone here, stupid, but I do think that we all need to keep in mind that the driver still has to exercise some level of common sense while behind the wheel. There have been all too many posts on this forum from folks that blamed the car and/or the tires after spinning out because they simply took a corner too fast for the condition. VSA will help with that, but it's still possible to exceed the limits of what VSA can do! So, if you go out and push it and wrap it around a phone pole somewhere, don't go crying defect to Honda because VSA didn't save you!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.
