Just what we need on a purists' sports car.

My Odyssey has the same feature - seems to fit on that car - not the S.

Don't start with the "purist" thing or we'll have the MG and Triumph guys over here frothing at the mouth and flaming big time.

serioulsy, dont let purism (is that a word?) get in the way of technology! Oil companies will definately take a hit when every car has these i think.

I just think most people driving this car don't need a computer saying "Wake up - it's time to change the oil". My wife needs that in the Odyssey - I don't in the S.

i guess your missing the point... the mant' req'd light does what you call a 'wake up' signal. The oil life meter tells you when you NEED to change your oil, not when you're SUPPOSED change the oil. U hearing me?

My point is that the standard highly-informed poster on this site is better equipped to determine the appropriate time to change the oil than some computer.

IMO the thing is a good idea since it's based on how hard an engine is used and not on mileage. Oil in an engine that has 3000 mi. at an average of 3000 rpm is in better shape than that of an engine with 3000 mi. with an average 6000 rpm.
