Default 07 is slow....

I recently drove an 07 that was left over at a dealership and the guy from the dealership let me get on it all i wanted and i wasnt impressed. Im not trying to bash the s cause i know speed isnt what its all about, but it just felt like a pig. The engine check light was on so could that have had something to do with it?

I'd drive one without the CEL on before making any judgements on performance...

It all depends what car your used to, the S is not a fast car by any means, but when the first time I drove it coming right out of my stock miata, it felt like a damn rocketship... If you daily drive a Z06 then the s2k will definately feel like a pig. But its weird an almost new 2007 at a dealership would already have a check engine light.

CEL is on because all the fake buyers 'testdrive' these brand new motors and run the shit out of them. Very bad for the motor when brand new. Now somebody will buy this abused 'new' s2k.

Slow off the line for sure. I'd expect a pretty good showing against Camaro's and Mustang GT's at highway speeds.
Anyone with experience? This car feels like it's ready to rumble at the speed limit on the nations Interstates.
Might be wrong though.

its actually the other way around, s2k's could usually keep up with cobras through 3rd, but once speeds get over 80+ cobras and camaros and z's will pass us like were standing still.
