low to mid 5 secs' 0-60 is slow? 100 trap speed is slow? what do you normally drive? Did you enter vtec or let the car warm up enough to get into vtec? It has to reach 4 bars. Did you leave VSA on and shift to quickly chirping the tires?

You probably took it up to 7k or less on your shifts
The car is slow in the 1/4 mile. I love mine and it's fun to drive but in a straight line there are tons of faster cars. Sorry but 14's in the 1/4 is not fast.

Make the car fast. A fast s2k is a sleeper - and having a sleeper is probably more fun than anything else.

its actually the other way around, s2k's could usually keep up with cobras through 3rd, but once speeds get over 80+ cobras and camaros and z's will pass us like were standing still.
Not really, if we are talking about a GT or a chager SLT hemi than an s2k would beat it in the highway or off the line. Those cars are heavy as balls (i dunno about the newer mustang tho, i was refering to the 04 and under, and not the cobra cause thats a beast of its own!) I drove my buddys 03 GT and its slow as shit (atleast compared to my 00 s2k) My uncle works at world ford and tells me the new mustand is way faster than the old so?!

I didn't buy the S to drag race. It is a very capable sports car, that handles well, brakes better than average and can show it's flanks to much higher H.P. cars.

ppete - i'm guessing you jumped into the s from a ricer fwd ricer civic. with the s2k's low torque and rwd, power is extremely smooth so the test drive you took is a typical response. put the car in traffic and you'll have a different opinion. especially against your 17sec b16 civic. if you add basic bolt-ons (i/h/e/ecu reflash), she will run mid-high 13's all day.

the money in this car is the handling...

I was actually shocked how slow this car is in a straight line. My E36 M3 ran 14.1 in the quarter 10 years ago but that felt much faster and probably is due to the torque curve.

Im not asking "why you bought your car" or anything else for that matter. I love the s and will have one as soon as my credit score goes up a little more. My whole original question is.... how much could a cel effect the performance? I dont think it could have been a big issue...the car only had a little over 100 miles on it, but i may be wrong. So is that all she has or should i be expecting more?
