1 car - 3 engines
I'm not sure we have a 'lemon' law here but it would be interesting to find out.
Is a porous block something that is easily noticeable by the service technician? .. or by the owner?
I think I'm going to ask that my dealer check mine out at my next service just for my own peace of mind.

JDM,
Sorry to hear about your porous block (Did you notice anything wrong or did the dealer diagnose the problem ??) Does the car have to be off the road while you wait for parts ?? Do you mind if I ask which dealer is performing the work ?
As for whether to sell the car and start again, I think it's probaly best to wait until it's repaired and see how well the repairs go. It maybe in your best interest to see if Honda are willing to offer any compensation (extended warranty, free servicing or great deal on a 2001 S2000)
Good luck and I hope everything goes well.

I've already bag's'd the first short block
.
Assuming JDM's now porous block is no worse than mine this is not the sort of problem that will incapacitate the vehicle. It just means you have to be a little more judicious checking the coolant. Which is a good thing what with the HSCC Australia Day drive on this weekend (which I'm going to miss
).
The symptoms are nothing more than a stain on the block left by the evaporated coolant.

But geewillicahs, they better not put another dud block in mine when they do it.
