The Motorola radio descriptions can be found at http://commerce.motorola.com/cgi-bin/ncomm...r=8&cgmenbr=126
On the previous rides, the radios used were the TalkAbout 250 models. This model sells for about $80/radio. The fr50 and fr60 radios can be purchased for around $40 and $50 per radio respectively.
I still do not own my own pair of radios but will probably pick one up before Saturday.

Had to throw in that new england phrase (wicked p i s s a). If we get a sunny day in the 70's then that phrase sums it up. The forum work decoder doesn't like the **** in ****a...
Are all the Motorola radios work on the same public frequencies? Looks like you can get models with private channels as well... That may be the way to go since I heard a lot of useless chatter on the ski mountains this past year...

I saw a letter my uncle wrote my grandmother when he was a teenager from camp that had both "wicked" and "p i s s a", think that was in the early 50's...
I thought it was hillarious!
Marcel, you gonna make it or what?

Munch, you have got to come. My wife has been running around with the top down more since the run than she did all summer. You showed her the light so to speak.
The Motorola radios operate on the Family Radio Service (FRS) and they are all compatible if the are for FRS. There are 14 channels and 38 "privacy codes" thus 4-5 is channel 4, privacy code 5. Anyone not using the exact same settings can't hear us or we them.
BTW John I believe that Circuit City has the 250 for about $70.00.
I can't believe how the weather is coming together for this run. The local weather man is predicting partly cloudy and 70 for Saturday and then sharply colder for Sunday.
If Munch comes, top up is strictly prohibited.

The latest Boston.com 5 day forecast says for saturday:
A cold front is forecast to drift across the region. Patchy cloudiness early Saturday, otherwise partly to mostly sunny skies. Breezy. A nice day for outdoor autumn activities. Highs 60 to 65.
This was the same site that said a couple of days ago "chance of showers on saturday"
All you lurkers and uncommitted's in the area: It's time to step up to the plate and join us...
