This is my first post but I have been viewing for itleast six months. I have also used the search function multiple times.

My List
1. 4.44 gears $360
2. K & N FPIK $250
3. Test Pipe $100
4. Install gears $290

Most of the mods on this list have been reviewed favorably. They also do not affect daily drivability like some power adders. I realize a 70mm exhaust will get some nice gains but its not an option.

My goal for this car is to increase horsepower and throttle response. Hopefully an increase of 10-12 horsepower. The gears should provide a little more omph off the line(improved gearing-no horsepower). Is it realisitic to expect a 10 horsepower gain in the midrange and a little on the topend with just intake and test pipe?

Would you reccomend a VAFC? Or is the 02-03(Mine is an 02) ecu tuned better than the 00-01? Does the 02-03 run leaner from the factory?

Please Provide suggestions and feedback. If there is anyone with a similar set up please chime in.

Make sure you price the gears with installation. That can be a chunk o' change.
