$107.00 for Oil & Diff Change

Default $107.00 for Oil & Diff Change

Just got Oil and Diff fluid changed- $107 and I brought them the Mobil 1 gear oil for the diff- So 127.00 in parts and labor- seems a little steep. And I know the bastard took my car for a spin, my trip odometer was reset, is anyone else super paranoid about those bastards hot roding around in your car when you take it to get serviced?

I don't worry about anything since I change my own fluids in the time it takes to drive to the dealer...

It happens all the time. It's either learn to do it yourself or pay a few ways.

I take my car to a drive-thru oil change place and I watch them change the engine oil (plus I know a few of the guys that work there). So it's easy to make sure it's done right.

I change all of the other fluids myself. The differential is probably one of the easiest ones to do.

i've changed my engine oil and differential oil myself. engine oil was a cinch. just did my differential oil over the weekend, that was a real pain.

there's a big black metal sheet like right in front of the fill plug, so that gave me some problems since i cut the tubing too short the first time. then my dad decided he would cut the tip of the oil head more so it flow out easier (while i was inside cutting a longer piece of tubing)...big mistake. couldn't get the tubing to stay on after that. oil all over my hands. bought a pump thing that broke as i was trying to maneuver the bottle around. finally ended up buying another thing of oil and a tube that screws onto the top of the bottle. then finally, i was kinda pissed off and rushing at this point, so finally i get to the point where the diff is full but i squeeze too much in too fast, and it's coming out real fast...gets all over the floor (luckily not on me, except for my hands). and that stuff smells terrible.

well, i'll still do it again next time. except it wont take nearly as long, i hope. once you buy the tools, it's much cheaper than taking it to the dealer. even buying all the tools and supplies it's still cheaper than the dealer...what a rip off.

Your blown and you don't do your own maintenance?..

You know they took your car for a serious joyride cause it's SC'd.

Do yourself a favor and learn to do your own maintenance.
