10k valve adjustment?

Actually, the service manual says "do not adjust them unless they are noisy".
Anyway, I personally think that it's just as likely that you (or your mechanic) will screw something up as it is you will improve anything. Maybe more likely.
If you have the valve cover off for some other reason, you might as well check the valve clearances while you are there. But otherwise, don't mess with them unless you have some reason to think there is a problem.
I've talk to the tech manager friend of mine who works at honda and he said they hardly ever do them and you don't need to do them unless it's causing problems.
so don't do it.

It is certainly not necessary to adjust the valves unless they are noisy or you hit the 105k service interval, just like honda and the manual say.
However, the factory settings are within an allowable range. If you are into the very noticable benefits to be had from fine tuning, you should consider doing a valve adjustment to get them all set the same instead having them be randomly all over the allowable range.
The same goes for alignment. The factory alignment most likely has each wheel somewhere in the allowable range, but each corner of the car is set differently. There is much improvment in handling to be had by setting the alignment to exacting specifications. Of course you have to know your driving style and situation to identify what those custom specifications would be; coming up with custom specs for the valves is a bit easier. This isn't for everyone.
These are low cost, low risk, highly noticable modifications. But if you are not into fine tuning then don't bother with these things. It's ok either way, and, everyone gets to decide for themselves.
