11,000 RPM's ?
A friend has been telling me that some folks are using motorcycle valve springs from a "R" high-rev street bike and that a S2K is capable of rev's to 11K with this and a few other minor mods. Is this non-sense or has anyone heard the same?

well, if the engine was redlining at 11krpm, the fuel map, air/fuel, timing, etc. would thus be retuned to accommodate the wider rpm range; surely, peak power would not still be at a mere 8300rpm.

I know VTEC engines are designed to shift at higher RPMs, but I find myself staying very low when I shift <5000. Is this bad for the car? What are the gas milage ramifications of shifting early or late (say 6-7,000 rpms).
What are the ideal shifting RPM ranges for gas?
Don't flame me with the "its a sports car, drive it like one" stuff. I am just curious.
