Default 11000RPM in S2000?

i heard ppl say that the 00-03 s2k can go to 11000rpm, is that true?
in the dash board it only goes to 9500rpm but after that it flash 2 times after flash 2 time it mean 11000rpm??

Hi i havent heard of people reving that high but when u look at dyno sheets from s2ks theres no power after 9k,so why would you rev pass 9k anyway. Unless you are turbo or supercharged?

^

We heard it from mother Honda itself (well AHM anyway) at Fall Colors 2003 that overrevving the car (at least in stock form, Jack) is physically detectable from damage at a little over 10000 RPM. The valves will not be able to keep up with this speed, and the pistons will start to slap against them.

The valve train is the weak link in higher RPMs.

This can be dealt with with aftermarket top end work, but you'd better not try to go to 11K with the stock engine.

So wait is the redline 9k or 11k?

I tried downshifting into 2nd when I was going 90 to see if the lights would flash more than two times meaning 13k rpm right? But, it was weird cuz the engine just stopped and i went careening off the road.

Anyone tell me what happened?
