Depends on what you're after. I have 2 sets of 16s: the OEM wheels and the JDM BBS optional wheels. At the moment I'm on an "OEM" bent but if I was after overall performance I'd lean more towards something like a set of 17in CE28s, in S2000 offset. I don't want to roll guards etc so my choices are more limited than owners who are willing to.

Personally, I prefer the aesthetics of 16's but 17s seem to be the sweet spot for aesthetics and performance. 18s are the way to go if you want max performance.

Tire choices are really what determine what size you are going to get. If you're OK with AP1 tire sizing, 16s are the way to go IMO.

I hated how limited the options were to replace tires on the OEM 16" wheels. I have AP2v1s now and have for a decade, much better tire options and the slightly wider wheel/tire setup does wonders for an AP1 in how it handles and confidence in the corners.

I loved my AP1 with 16 inch rims and 200 UTQG tires. If I get another AP1 I'll go with JDM BBS 16's.

yesss! i agree the tires are limited which is one reason why I’m torn to go with a 16 but the wheel i really want is in 16 (work Meister cr-01) but they are step lipped so I’m assuming it’s a 15” face

I forgot to mention to use guys I would be going wide on the wheels with a bigger tire but if the face is a 15” as I mention before that it might be then it won’t clear that brake pad, right? That wheel is such a beauty and idk what else to go with

Thread title states 16' wheels. I was excited to see some pioneer level engineering. Misleading. False advertising.

16" wheels are much more boring of a topic. Stock S2000's came with 16" wheels. What's the question that hasn't already been covered?

In fact...in 2004, Honda's thoughts were "This is boring. 17's would make the car faster and better looking. lets do that"

Some tech info:
16" is 1" less than 17".
16" is roughly equivalent to 0.4m
It would take 16 1" increments to equal to 16".
Tire sizing for 16" wheels is limited in S2000 friendly diameters.

All the above info is as old as the average age of people still running 16" wheels.

The S2000's rocking 16" wheels are the stock AP1's.

I don't think that all 16's look bad or anything and the Ap1 wheels function just fine but switching to 17's provides a much wider range of tire options. Going to a 17 let Honda put wider tires on the car which helped balance the car and lessen the snap oversteer the AP1's had all while making it look a little more modern.
