Default 17" front and 18" rear ?

Whats the point of having 17" front rims and 18" rear rims?
I know that Corvette and Lotus are delivered with those sizes.
Anyone who knows the answer?

More meat up front, for bumps so your rims wont get damaged.
the fronts at least

The NSX has a 1" smaller front as well - the main reason being for packaging purposes - to allow more space in the footwells and for a lower hoodline.

can you do that on the s2k or what?
can 18's even fit on the s2k?
would it be better to go with 17's rear 16's front?????

In any case, you'd just have to maintain tire diameter.
