S2K owners:

I'm considering going with an aftermarket set of wheels/tires.

However I can't decide if I want to go with 18"s or 17"s, offset, and tire size.

Can I get your input on this? Has anyone had success with the 18" applications or do you prefer 17"s?

I figure if I'm going to upgrade I would plus size to 2.

Thanks,
Mark

Mugen only makes 17's if that helps ya make a decision.

I have 17" volks. They seem to ride similar to stock, and handle better, plus weigh less than the stock setup.

Not much help, but.... goodluck

I'm going w/ 17s, no worries about clearance etc. Just waiting for Dayton to finish them.

I'd go with 17's. 18's are more for show than go. It is very hard to find the correct tire sizes needed to run the 18's, and there is so little sidewall left that the ride will be quite stiff. Also 18's will add weight to the car.

17's are a good compromise, as you can get a broader range of tires in the correct sizes, there is more sidewall, which means better ride and better adhesion over bumpy roads, and if you choose your wheels correctly, they will be lighter than stock. Also, 17's wheel be less expensive than 18's.

Well I've been shopping for 17's for a while trying to find a lightweight/attractive/reasonably priced wheel & guess what? I've only found two IMHO that fit: OZ Superleggera 15 lbs.(but the 17X8 for rear haven't yet hit our shores) & Enkei RPM2 16 lbs. F & 16.5 lbs. R. I've been told that 205/50 17 F & 245/40 17 R are within .2 of an inch to OEM pkg. size. I like the Racing Hart, Volk, Mugen etc. but just can't afford 2G's just for wheels & another 500-600 for tires. I've got a quote for $1500 for the OZ & about $2K for the Enkei's with tires. The other brands mentioned are lighter but are expensive. The old addage applies, you get what you pay for.... My .02

Since we're on this topic, has anyone found out any more information on the JDM 17" wheels pictured on the Honda of Japan site? Price, availability, weight, size, etc?

Also, does anyone know how much the 18" Work wheels weigh?

Thanks for the input.

Actually, I meant the Modulo 17" wheels, not JDM. Anyone?

Get the 17"s and make sure you get the right offsets.....very important on this car.
