1st of all, I would consider the road condition where you live, and commute.

2nd of all, consider if these new wheels are for show or for performance.

I picked 18's for show and because the roads around the area I live in aren't that bad. It turns out better this way because I put some tires that last longer and handle better in the rain.

Soooo...I use the stock 16's for racing and events and the 18's are for show and street use.

I live in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon) and the roads are not that bad.

My S2000 is for street use only and not for track.

With 17's what are the size of tires, wheels and offset that you have been successfull? How about 18's?

Thanks again.

Mark_12345,

If you want to use these wheels for the street (everyday driving)...cool. Get some 18's for show and get some tires that will last (high UTG), unless you just have money to burn. Keep the 16's for racing events.

I use the Toyo T1-S on my 18's for daily driving because the grooves are awsome for wet weather. The tire generally lasts longer than the S02's...so I'm not afraid to do some 7K clutch drops. For my 16's (stock)...I'm going to keep the S02's on there or put some A032R's for track events.

Here is a thread discussing the offset for 17's. It really depends on what diameter you get.
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=8322

For 18's...my offsets are:
18x7.5 (48mm), 18x8.5 (50mm). I believe these are the minimal offsets you can use for these diameters. Post what dimension wheels you are looking for, alot of people on this board will be able to help you out (including me).

Unicron:

You the man. I greatly appreciate your helpful response.

I would like to get:

18x7.5 offset 55mm
18x8.5 offset 60mm

What are your wheel/tire size and offsets? Have you experience any rubbing problems?

In the Pacific NW, rain is an issue so I'm tending to lean towards performance 'rain' tires.

Thanks again Unicron!

I gotta agree with Unicron- 18's are the way to go if you want wheels for appearence. I don't remember my offsets, but I'm running a 225/40/18 up front and 255/35/18 in the rear. No problems with rubbing.

I've seen 19" Konig(sp?) wheels on one on dealer showroom floor. I think the front was 225/35ZR19 and read was 255/35ZR19. It was a $3900 option.

Mark_12345,

No problem bud...I just like to help out...just like someone else helped me out on this board when I was looking for aftermarket parts (what a great board).

I'm running...
18x7.5 with 48mm offset
18x8.5 with 50mm offset

My car is lowered and I have 215/40/18 Yokohama Parada in front and 245/35/18 Toyo T1-S in back. I don't have any rubbing at all. I would on the border with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 but I chose the 215 and 245 sizes because they match the stock diamter, and I like the lower profile look. I can't find those two sizes with the same manufacturer...but I don't mind mixing anyhow. Both tires are great for wet weather driving...and that is all I really care about with this setup (look good and not hydroplane). Here are pictures of the tires:

T1-S

Parada

18x7.5 offset 55mm
18x8.5 offset 60mm
Those offsets are perfect. I wouldn't go any less than 48mmm in front and 50mm in back with the 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 setup.

Good luck with your search and purchase!
