At first I just want a roadster that is very fast.
I go to the caterham dearler to look for a super-7 and he didn't bother to sell me a car.
So I goto the lotus dearler to know that the Elise is sold out and I had to wait 6 months with no firm price on that.
Then I told myself, you forgot there is a S-2000 that are expensive but great and I had been driving a Honda for a long time(integra,CL). So I sign the order and make a deposit without even a look or test drive the car.(they don't even had a stook at showroom in Hong Kong)
I got my blue S-2000 and at last I had made the best choice.

911 C2. I couldn't afford it or see the point in buying a car that cost more than I paid for my house. Then Honda came out with the stook and there was no more debate. I knew I had to have a car that would scream to 9K. Damn I'm ready.

Okay so I don't own an S2000, and won't probably (for a while anyway), but when I was car shopping, my first choice was a VW Golf 1.8T four-door. Nice rig.

Then I drove the Subaru Impreza 2.5RS and it was all over.

Pre-owned NSX-T. . . In the end though, I opted to get a new S2K without having to "settle" for someone else's NSX. . .

However, I've already begun planning for an '03 or '04 NSX

In late '99 went roadster shopping and test drove the Miata, Z3 2.8, '99 and '00 Boxster and S2000. I was considering a Boxster S, but none were available to drive yet. The S2000 was way more fun than any of the other cars!

'66 427 AC/Shelby Cobra (not a replica).

My former partner has one he bought new from Carroll Shelby in 1966 or so and I've ridden in it. The stook is far more practical.

Really, for me, the S2K is perfect. When the dealer first showed me a news article on it in the summer of 1999 I was interested. When he got his first one in in November, 1999, I fell in love with it but it just wasn't practical compared to my Prelude for Wyoming's winters. Besides, that S2K was pre-sold 2 or 3 months before the first ones shipped. The dealer sold their '01 allotment by January, 2000 but got an extra '00 so in April, '00 I put money down on mine.

The turning point in the decision process for me was deciding to by the S2K for fun and keep the '93 Prelude for daily driver. And I knew my dealer was being fair selling it for MSRP.

No regrets.

I wanted a high performance "fancy" challenging roadster that would have local service. Remember there are no (zero, none, zilch) dealers in Wyoming for: BMW, Porsche, Acura, etc.

Of course, there are a zillion specialty shops for customizing your big American pickup truck.

I thought about alot of cars. My first choice was the NSX and still is. But I'll tell you, that I could have made a better choice. Performance, handling, styling it's in a word it's,"superb!" The new NSX is a longer term goal!

Cheers! Happy Holiday!

Now that I am semi-retired and my wife and I are empty nesters we had our sights set on a 2 seater convertible. My last convertible was a 57 Belair and our most exciting car was a 66 GTO. God, I'm old. So we wanted a convertible with GTO excitement. Enter the S2K. Looked at all the 2 seater convertibles and the BMW M was the choice behind the stook. I have never looked back.
