Default A 2-Piece Hardtop?

While thinking about hardtops and the hassle of having to store it when wanting to go top down, I was thinking, "What about a 2-piece HT?"

By 2-piece, I mean the ability to remove the roof area only, with the back sides and window still in place. Think T-Top, and that's what I was picturing.

What do you guys think? If I can get my hands on a fairly inexpensive used HT, I may consider this experiment!

What do the fellow S drivers think? Discuss....

the car would look kinda goofy if someone decided to just have the back sides with or w/o the rear window in place without the roof

Yeah, similar to the way a Surpa and NSX is. Also the Elise has the t-top style. Just looking for opinions.

I wish I had some skills with photoshop, so that I could chop it and see what it would/could look like.

I vote "Yes" for a simple little targa top.
Not because I'd prefer this top over OEM but because I would now have the ability to remove the top much more easily by myself.
Besides, going "Targa" might be pretty cool now and then.

Going targa is what motivated me to start this thread. I think it would look pretty interesting, and with the 2-piece, we could probably get rid of the soft-top and it's equipment altogether.

I may have a buddy of mine chop a photo to see how it looks. But if anyone else wants to take to the task of doing it, be my guest!!!

Definitely agree with the T-Top idea, but it would have to be made of CF
