20 y/o and S2k
I'm 20 and i just got a 2k1 s2000. i use to have an 98 accord that got totaled by someone who ran a stop sign, so i looked around for the car i wanted and fell in love the S so it took a few months and a got the check and put the down on it. i think my issurance is high though on it.
Aodhan,
Do you plan to drive this car over the winter? If you do, you might want to check out some snow tires for it. Are there any driving courses available in your area this time of year? How about autocross events? Until you understand the limits of the car, just being careful might not be enough. Many people have been surprised by the car's behavior in certain situations.

Legal Bill. To answer your questions yes this car will be driven through the winter, so I will be getting good all season tires. It doesn't snow much in Seattle so I am not worried about that. As for the autocross's, theres plenty of them around here. I am usually at them twice a month. So yes the car will be autocrossed as well.
I am not to sure about the driving courses, but there's a Class at Portland International Raceway in March that I am planning tosign up for.
