Default 2000-2005 Seats- What's the diff?

I have a 2005 S. My passenger seat was damaged in an accident, so I bought a pair off of ebay. My original driver side is better than the one I got, but both the ones I got are closer to black than grey. Mine is noticeably lighter. Are there differences in color for the various years?

The person that sold them advertised that they were from a 2005, but their is noticable wear on the left bolster of the driver side. I am thinking these are from an earlier model. Can anybody weigh in?

04+ had red and black which was red incerts in the seats and door panels as opposed to earlier years where black and red peices were mixed and not integrated. As far as grey it may be that the sun got to the seats over time. A bigger person can quicky add wear to a bolister

I have heard that the AP1 seats used a different leather and the black was a little darker in the AP1s.

Yup ... the AP1 black seats are actually black. The AP2 black seats are more like charcoal

00 and 01 seats had the black plastic behind the wind net in the headrest, in the 02+ it was silver. and then the passanger seat got a sensor to detect if a small child is in the seat to either not deploy, or deploy the airbag slower (i don't remember which) and I think that change came in 04
